About African savanna elephants: The largest land animals on Earth, African savanna elephants are intelligent and highly social. They also help shape their habitats, creating pathways and opening up landscapes that can benefit many other species.
Despite their importance, African savanna elephant populations have declined by at least 60% over the past 50 years.
