SOUTH AFRICA IS OUR NEWEST OVERSEAS PROJECT
Aspinall Foundation South Africa
Saba & Nairo are the first ever cheetah to be rewilded in South Africa from a UK animal park. Very soon. they will be able to run free, hunt and breed in safety.
In 2019 we, in collaboration with a team of international conservationists, rescued 11 elephants, 4 giraffe, 19 buffalo and 29 wildebeest from a barren, half-abandoned reserve in South Africa's Eastern Cape.
The rescued animals were all safely translocated to safe new homes within hours.
The Aspinall Foundation has embarked on an exciting project aiming to re-wild numerous Southern African species, from captive animal populations.
We aim to build a reserve, where we can send many of our animals currently at our Kent wildlife parks, back to the wild.
