Our family of European brown bears, who were rescued from a zoo in Andorra, spend their time exploring their custom-built three-acre woodland enclosure. The bears – named Julio, Enciam and Neu, and their young cubs – were transported 800 miles from Naturlandia, Andorra’s only zoo, which was part of an amusement park.

Fun Facts about brown bears
The brown bear (Ursus arctos) is the most widely distributed bear, occurring across North America, Europe and Asia
What do brown bears eat?
These large predators will catch prey of all sizes from small rodents to mighty moose, but they are actually omnivorous and much of their diet consists of nuts, berries and roots.
How we're helping
These bears are soon to be homeless as their zoo in Andorra is closing. We are building a sanctuary for Julio, Enciam, Neu and their cubs at Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve where they can live peacefully for the rest of their lives.
