About The Artist

Progressively moving towards a more realistic style, Peter David Jones began painting in oils while is the comfort of his home.The subjects of his work have predominately been wildlife ranging from neighbours in the back garden, to the inhabitants of the forest, to the great five in South Africa.Peter’s passion for the African elephant has continued throughout his artistic journey, however his use of acrylics is broad within the animal kingdom. Peter, with his wife Trish visited Botswana Namibia, and Zambia in 2006, in order to obtain to first hand experience of African animals.Images and film footage were captured for his future piecesThis access to the habitat of the subjects within Peter’s work has proved invaluable and even more of his time is spent in his studio.This is indicative of his dedication and love for his work
